Don’t feel deflated over Christmas
A recent survey has revealed that a third of motorists believe that kicking a tyre will reveal whether or not it is properly inflated. More worryingly, one in four does not know how to check if their tyre tread is legal.
With two thirds of drivers skidding on roads last winter it is imperative to understand the importance of roadworthy tyres.
Your tyres are the only point of your vehicle that are in contact with the road and their condition not only influences your car’s performance but are also paramount to your safety.
Both under or over inflated tyres will cause a loss of grip on braking and cornering and can lead to a dangerous blowout. With 194 fatalities and serious injuries due to defective tyres on UK roads last year, it is paramount to keep yours in top condition.
A few simple tips and suggestions can make all the difference.
Give your tyres a visual inspection at least once a month
The legal tread for tyres in the UK is 1.6mm. An easy check is to compare the depth against the border of a 20p coin. Drivers ought to consider renewing their tyres once the tread gets to 3mm.
In the winter months consider purchasing winter tyres. At Concorde we have a wide range of winter tyres at the best prices.

Not only did they quickly sort my tyre's out but also gave me advice about other issue's and how to go about resolving these with the garage I had bought my car from. I did need to call Concorde several times and they we more than happy to help me. Its all sorted out now but would not have been if it wasn't for this fantastic team, thank you. "
